MR. HEHERSON M. PAGULAYAN
  Heherson M. Pagulayan, 28 years old is a resident of Centro San Antonio, Ilagan, Isabela. He was born on February 28, 1979, the eldest among the children of Mr. Jeremias Pagulayan and Aurea Martinez Pagulayan. Heherson is a graduate of Electronic and Communication Engineering at the Technological Institute of the Philippines, Manila in the year 2002. After graduation, he was married to Emelyn delos Santos from Centro, San Antonio, Ilagan, Isabela. They were gifted with three children, two girls and one boy.
After graduation, Heherson started farming, despite of lucrative jobs offering relative to his eduational attainment. He prefered close with his family and managed the 4.5 heactares of land inherited from his parents. In his first operation, he did not have a good harvest for corn because of calamities. This experience encourage him to engage in vegetable production. Intially he started in small scale area for him to test his capability on the production technologies of vegetables. With his limited knowledge on vegetables production, he was determined to learn more about the farming operation and technology intervention to improve his productivity.
Heherson, integrates all the production technologies in his farm, such as the Nutrient Management, Integrated Pest Management, Irrigation and Mulching. These technologies made him popular in the barangay because, he is creating continous jobs to service earners (daily wage) in the locality. Today he is employing 20 permanent laborers to manage his farm from land preparation to harvesting.
In his efforts to maximize the utilization of his land, he was able to generate a total net return of P1,338,165.00 for the duration of one (1) year with an ROI of 301.27%. Vegetables contributes a total net return of P1,209,945.00 with a return on investment of 387.31%. For him, farming is a noble profession. However, he considered farming as an agribusiness because it is glamorous, prestigous and status symbol.
